Adjustable Box Squat Box

The elitefts Box Squat Box is a height-adjustable steel box built for box squats, high box squats, lunges, step-ups, split squats, and other posterior-chain and depth-training work. Its 18”x18” base adjusts from 11” to 16” via a slide-in post-pin and lockdown screw, and it’s built from solid 2x2 11-gauge texture-coated steel — elitefts rates it to hold a 380 lb lifter with a 1,000 lb barbell. It breaks down into three pieces for easier transport than a solid wooden box.

A gym owner who bought one for their powerlifting members (The Atlas Strength Shop, YouTube) called the welds and powder coating some of the best they’d seen for the price, and expects it to last for years. Their main complaint is the adjustment mechanism itself: the bolt-and-retaining-pin design has tight tolerances that make it fiddly to slip on and off, and they’d have preferred a spring-loaded pop-pin like elitefts uses on other equipment — especially for a gym rotating multiple lifters through different box heights. elitefts also sells a matching Box Squat Pad separately; that reviewer found its vinyl top serviceable but not particularly grippy.
