The Campbell is a rack-grip attachment from Oak Club Mfg, co-designed with home-gym reviewer Brandon Campbell (“Basement Brandon”), built to replace several single-purpose attachments at once. It mounts anywhere along a rack’s 1” or 5/8” hardware holes and offers supinated, pronated, or neutral grip positions, functioning as a movable pull-up bar, stretching grab bar, lever-arm handle, Hatfield-squat assistant, or calf-raise stabilizer. Each handle is 1/4” plate welded steel with a 32mm (1-1/4”) grip diameter and a 1/4” UHMW polymer pad at the rack contact point to protect the post’s finish; the only non-metal component besides that UHMW pad is absent entirely – no rubber or plastic grips. Machined steel end caps carry laser-cut Oak Club branding. Operation requires a hitch pin – Oak Club’s own stainless MagPin (sold separately, with optional color-matched finishes) or an equivalent – since standard hitch pins don’t fit the design well.

What is a Rack Attachment?

What rack attachments are

Rack attachments bolt or pin onto a power rack or squat stand to expand what it can do — J-cups and safety arms/straps (the essentials), plus dip bars, a landmine, a lat pulldown, weight-plate storage, roller J-cups, and more. They turn a rack into a whole gym.

Compatibility comes first

An attachment must match your rack’s upright size (2x2, 2x3, or 3x3) and hole pattern/hardware (e.g. 5/8-in vs 1-in holes, Westside spacing). Attachments are usually series-specific — a Monster Lite J-cup won’t fit an Echo upright — so confirm the fit before buying.

A boutique rack-grip attachment from Oak Club Mfg, co-designed with home-gym reviewer Brandon Campbell (“Basement Brandon”), that swaps in for a pull-up bar, lever-arm handle, and Hatfield/calf-raise stabilizer all at once. Its standout dimension is build quality: fully-welded 1/4” plate steel with UHMW contact points that protect a rack’s finish, praised repeatedly across independent reviewers and owners as “superbly made” with excellent fit and finish. Versatility is a close second — it mounts anywhere along 1” or 5/8” rack hardware in supinated, pronated, or neutral grip. The weakest dimension is value: it’s a premium, niche accessory that owners and prospective buyers alike flag as expensive relative to generic rack handles, and coverage is thin (one YouTube review, GymRadar’s small sample, and Reddit anecdotes) rather than deep independent testing.

  • +Build quality: 1/4" plate welded steel with UHMW rack-contact points that protect the rack post's finish (oakclubmfg.com)
  • +Build quality: called "superbly made and designed" by multiple independent owners, with praise for fit/finish (r/homegym)
  • +Versatility: mounts anywhere along the rack in 1" or 5/8" hardware, in supinated, pronated, or neutral grip — replaces a pull-up bar, Hatfield-squat handle, and calf-raise stabilizer in one attachment (The Farr Outpost review; oakclubmfg.com)
  • +Functionality: reviewer called it "built really well" and was "happy overall," noting it's cheaper than buying a dedicated pull-up bar plus separate Hatfield/support handles (The Farr Outpost YouTube review)
  • +Durability: no rubber or plastic components besides the UHMW protector, reducing wear-prone parts (oakclubmfg.com)
  • Value: repeatedly flagged as expensive — one Reddit user wished for "the 'Campbell' from OakClub, without the stratospheric price point" (r/homegym)
  • Value: requires a separate MagPin or compatible hitch pin purchase (~$100/pair) to function; traditional hitch pins don't fit well (oakclubmfg.com; The Farr Outpost review)
  • Versatility: fixed 5-1/4" grip length may be too short for lever-arm setups on deeper racks, per at least one owner's comparison (r/homegym)
  • Value: color-matched inserts add another ~$50 on top of an already premium price (The Farr Outpost YouTube review)
