Lock-Jaw’s Pro Axle is the brand’s only collar sized for 1.9” axle sleeves – the diameter found on axle bars, some trap bars, and other specialty equipment – and the one independent test of it, King of the Gym’s full Lock-Jaw lineup comparison, comes away impressed. Functionality is the standout: a manual pull-and-twist test found it simply wouldn’t budge, one-handed installation is easy, and a spring-loaded secondary locking tab (shared only with the Pro and Pro Magnet models) makes the lever effectively impossible to pop open on a hard drop. Build quality follows the same proven design as those standard Pro collars, just resized for the wider sleeve. The weakest point is versatility – it’s a single-purpose collar that’s useless without an axle-diameter bar to put it on – and it also skips the magnetic rack-storage feature Lock-Jaw offers on its Pro Magnet model, at the same $45 price as the plain Pro. Durability and value read positively but rest on one reviewer’s testing rather than a full drop/vertical-load battery, since the reviewer didn’t own an actual axle bar to test on.
