PRx Specialty Bar Storage

The PRx Specialty Bar Storage is a compact wall-mounted bracket built to get specialty barbells off the floor – hex bars, safety squat bars, EZ curl bars, cambered bars, and other multi-grip bars that don’t hang cleanly on a standard barbell hook. Its deeper profile is shaped to clear the bends and offset handles those bars have, and with enough ceiling clearance it can even hold a straight Olympic bar. It mounts to a single wall stud with the included hardware, is laser cut, bent, and powder coated in the USA, and is rated to hold up to 200lbs. PRx recommends adding roughly 18” to the length of the bar you plan to store when checking ceiling height, so the bar clears the floor and ceiling on the way in and out.

What is a Storage?

What gym storage is

Storage keeps a home gym safe, tidy, and usable: weight-plate trees and pegs, barbell holders (vertical or horizontal), dumbbell and kettlebell shelves, and wall or rack-mounted organizers. Loose plates and bars on the floor are a trip-and-damage hazard; storage reclaims space and protects your equipment.

What to consider

Match storage to what you own (plate diameter, number of bars, dumbbell count) and your space — wall-mounted units and rack-hung storage save floor area, while free-standing trees move easily. Check the weight capacity and, for wall units, that you can anchor into studs.

PRx’s Specialty Bar Storage is a compact wall-mounted bracket built to get oddly-shaped bars – hex bars, safety squat bars, cambered and multi-grip bars – off the floor using a single wall stud. Versatility is the standout dimension: its deeper profile is specifically shaped to clear the bends and handles that make specialty bars awkward on a standard barbell hook, and it can even hold a straight Olympic bar with enough ceiling clearance. Build quality checks out on paper (powder-coated USA steel, 200lb-rated bracket), and the small independent sample we found is positive, but durability is the weakest dimension simply because so little independent, long-term coverage exists yet for this specific accessory.

  • +Versatility: purpose-shaped to fit hex bars, safety squat bars, EZ curl, cambered, and multi-grip bars -- shapes that don't hang cleanly on a standard barbell hook, and can even store a straight Olympic bar with adequate ceiling clearance (PRx product page)
  • +Functionality: wall-mounts to a single stud and gets long, awkward specialty bars off the floor without needing a dedicated rack or shelf (PRx product page)
  • +Build quality: powder-coated USA steel bracket rated to 200lbs, laser cut and welded in-house (PRx product page)
  • +Value: $45.99 for a made-in-USA dedicated specialty-bar mount is inexpensive relative to a full storage rack system (PRx product page)
  • Durability: independent evidence is thin -- GymRadar shows only 3 reviews (4.67 avg), too small a sample for a confident long-term durability read
  • Functionality: buyers must plan ceiling height carefully -- the manufacturer recommends adding about 18" to the stored bar's length so it clears the floor and ceiling during removal (PRx product page)
  • Versatility: single-bar dedicated -- doesn't consolidate multiple specialty bars the way PRx's own multi-peg storage options do (PRx product page)
