SQUAT/ BENCH COMBO RACK

State of the Arc’s SQUAT/ BENCH COMBO RACK is a USPA-certified competition combo rack, hand-built to order by SOTA Welding, a small fabrication shop in Elba, NY founded in 2016. It’s independently confirmed on USPA’s approved-manufacturer list alongside larger competition-rack makers like Texas Strength Systems, EliteFTS, and ER, and Reddit owners specifically cite that certification as their reason for buying it over other combo racks.

Like any squat/bench combo rack, it trades the safety pins and multi-use flexibility of a full power rack for a single USPA-standard footprint that handles both squat and bench in one piece of equipment – the bench slots directly into the rack for consistent positioning, a tradeoff combo-rack buyers accept deliberately. Coverage is thin: there’s no independent editorial review or hands-on video test, but the scattered feedback that does exist is uniformly positive (“extremely well made,” rated above a Texas Strength Systems combo rack by one lifter) and GymRadar’s small in-house sample lands at 4.00/5. SOTA doesn’t publish a structured spec sheet, so buyers evaluating exact dimensions, steel gauge, or weight capacity should contact the shop directly before ordering.

Every unit is hand-built to order with a 6-8 week lead time. The base price includes powder-coating in the buyer’s choice of color and custom stenciling on large pieces; face savers (+$360) and custom graphics under the bench (+$60) are optional add-ons, and knurling is available on certain handles for an additional cost. Shipping is quoted separately after ordering based on location and configuration.
