3X3 Power Rack

The EliteFTS 3X3 Power Rack Quick Ship is a bolt-together power rack built from 11-gauge, 3” x 3” American steel, designed to ship faster (2-3 weeks) than EliteFTS’s made-to-order racks. Compass-point 4-hole posts with 2” hole spacing and 1” hole diameter make room for the brand’s wider accessory ecosystem – band pegs, blast straps, rack ropes, ab straps, dip attachments, and a plyo platform can all mount to the same frame. It ships with a monkey chin bar, a pair of J-cups, a two-part rod-and-pipe spotter system, and bolt-on dog-bone weight storage. The rack stands 92” tall, 49” wide, and 36” deep (54” deep with the weight storage attached), arrives partially assembled by freight, and is available in black or red, with custom colors, logos, and additional attachments available on request.

What is a Power Rack?

What a power rack is

A power rack is a four-post steel cage with adjustable J-cups and safety pins or straps that catch the bar when a rep fails — so you can squat, bench, and press heavy while training alone. It’s the anchor of a serious home gym: get the rack right and a bench, a barbell, and plates turn into a real strength gym.

What actually matters

  • Upright size & gauge. Bigger tubing with thicker walls means a stiffer rack. 3x3” 11-gauge steel is the durable home-gym standard; 2x3” 11-gauge (Rogue’s Monster Lite tier) is a lighter, cheaper step down that’s still plenty for most lifters. 2x2”/14-gauge entry racks (like REP’s PR-1100) are fine for lighter training and tight budgets.
  • Hardware & hole spacing. Look for 1” “Westside” spacing through the bench and pull zone for fine safety and J-cup height adjustment; numbered uprights make re-racking repeatable. Hardware runs from 3/8” on entry racks to 5/8” (Monster Lite / REP 4000) to oversized 1” (full Monster / REP 5000).
  • Footprint, height & mounting. Measure your ceiling first — a 90”+ rack plus a pull-up bar needs real headroom. Freestanding four-post cages are the default; flat-foot racks stand without bolting (good for renters or finished floors); folding wall-mounted racks reclaim floor space at the cost of some rigidity and attachment depth.
  • Safeties & ecosystem. Strap safeties are gentler on the bar; pin-and-pipe safeties are cheaper and rigid. And a rack is a platform — Rogue and REP both have deep attachment ecosystems, so buying into one hole pattern matters if you’ll add cables, a lat pulldown, or a belt squat later.

Who it’s for

Anyone lifting a barbell alone should own one. Match the rack to your space, budget, and how far you plan to build out — most home lifters are well served by a 3x3” 11-gauge rack in the $400-$1,000 range.

EliteFTS’s 3X3 Power Rack Quick Ship earns strong marks from a small but consistent base of real-world owners, who describe fast assembly and frames that still look new a decade into ownership. Versatility is the standout dimension: the compass-point 4-hole posts and two-part rod-and-pipe safety system support everything from suspended rows and grip work to plyo training off one frame. The weakest signal is coverage breadth – with only three GymRadar reviews and no independent editorial testing, the verdict rests on a thin sample, and one buyer’s account of missing hardware and a forgotten storage attachment on delivery tempers an otherwise glowing picture.

  • +Durability: one owner reports the rack has stood up across three different home gyms since 2014 and still looks new (GymRadar: Nick Rohlf)
  • +Versatility: compass-point 4-hole posts support a wide accessory ecosystem -- blast straps, rack ropes, ab straps, dip attachments, a plyo platform -- off one frame (elitefts YouTube demo)
  • +Functionality: the two-part rod-and-pipe safety system disperses catch force across two points instead of bending a single static bar, a safer setup for missed reps (elitefts YouTube demo)
  • +Build quality: 11-gauge 3"x3" bolt-together steel construction rated 5.0/5 by GymRadar owners on both build quality and performance (GymRadar)
  • Value: fulfillment wasn't flawless for at least one buyer -- missing rear plate-storage attachments and hardware had to be sourced separately, though EliteFTS made it right with free gear (GymRadar: Brandon Tunquist)
  • Durability: independent long-term data is thin -- only one of three GymRadar reviewers speaks to multi-year use
  • Versatility: the fullest accessory walkthrough comes from EliteFTS's own YouTube channel rather than a neutral third party, so treat it as a manufacturer demo, not an independent verdict
