Foam Games Box

The Rogue Foam Games Box is a 3-in-1 foam plyo box built to match the footprint of Rogue’s wooden Games Box – 20”, 24”, and 30” height settings in a single unit, selected by flipping the box – but with an ultra-dense foam core wrapped in softer foam padding on all six sides. That construction is firm enough to support real plyometric training while eliminating the shin injuries and joint jarring that come with missing a jump on a wooden or metal box. An 18 oz vinyl cover with printed height markings wraps the foam core and shows at a glance which orientation is set up. It’s made in the USA and finished in black with white lettering. The one caveat from the manufacturer: it isn’t rated for smooth flooring (wood, polished concrete, tile) since the box needs surface friction to stay planted during jumps.

What is a Miscellaneou?

What’s in Miscellaneous

This is the catch-all for the conditioning tools and accessories that don’t fit a single equipment class — weighted vests and plate carriers, medicine and slam balls, plyo boxes, ab mats, and the odds and ends that round out a garage gym. Items land here because their job (loaded carries, jumps, core work) cuts across the categories rather than sitting neatly inside one.

Who it’s for

Anyone filling in the gaps around the big pieces. If you already have a rack, bar, and plates, this is where you find the vest for rucking and weighted push-ups, the ball for slams and wall throws, or the box for step-ups and box jumps. Match the tool to the training you actually do — a plate carrier for conditioning and rucking, plyo boxes for explosive work — rather than buying the whole shelf.

The Rogue Foam Games Box is a 3-in-1 foam plyo box – 20”, 24”, and 30” heights in one unit – built to remove the shin-shredding risk of a wooden box while still feeling stable enough for serious training. Functionality is the standout: reviewers across Garage Gym Reviews, Garage Gym Revisited, and BOXROX independently praise how firm and secure it feels under a jump despite the soft foam edges, with Garage Gym Revisited’s reviewer reporting a measurable vertical-jump gain over six weeks of use. Value is the weakest dimension – at $275 it’s a real premium over wooden and most soft-box alternatives, and BOXROX’s own sub-score (50/100 on price) is the one discordant note in an otherwise uniformly positive picture.

  • +Functionality: firm and secure enough for genuine box jumps despite the soft edges -- BOXROX scores it 95/100 on functionality and 95/100 on safety/comfort
  • +Functionality: a Garage Gym Revisited reviewer measured a +3.2cm vertical jump increase over six weeks of use, framing it as a real training tool, not just a safety pad
  • +Versatility: flips between 20", 24", and 30" heights in one unit for progressive training (Garage Gym Reviews, Rogue manufacturer page)
  • +Durability: high-density foam core with a double-stitched vinyl shell that Garage Gym Revisited found held its shape under heavy repeated use
  • +Build quality: 18 oz vinyl cover with height markings and a made-in-USA build (Rogue manufacturer page, Garage Gym Reviews)
  • Value: expensive relative to wooden and most alternative soft-box options -- BOXROX scores it only 50/100 on price against a 95+ average on every other dimension
  • Functionality: harder to stack than a traditional wooden box, per BOXROX
  • Build quality: sources disagree on shipping weight -- the manufacturer lists 50 lb, Garage Gym Reviews lists 58 lb -- a minor inconsistency worth flagging rather than resolving with one source
  • Versatility: not rated for smooth flooring (wood, polished concrete, tile) per the manufacturer -- needs enough surface friction to stay put during jumps
