MAG Medium Grip Pronate

The MAG Medium Grip Pronate (MP005) is a paddle-style cable-machine handle that holds the wrists in a pronated, palms-down position through the pull. Its curved, roughly 22” (middle finger to middle finger) profile spreads load across the whole hand rather than the fingertips, so pulldowns, rows, and T-bar work can be done without straps. The pronated angle pushes the elbows out and away from the body more than MAG’s neutral or supinated grips, shifting emphasis toward the broader upper back rather than isolating the lats as tightly. It attaches to any cable machine or landmine T-bar setup and is one of three width options (close/medium/wide) MAG sells across neutral, pronate, and supinate grip angles.

Finish Rubber/polymer coated handle over welded steel

What is a Cable Attachment?

What cable attachments are

Cable attachments are the handles and bars that clip to a cable machine, functional trainer, or lat/row station to change the exercise — lat bars, triceps ropes, single-D handles, row/close-grip handles, ankle straps, and more. A small set of them turns one cable stack into dozens of movements.

What to look for

A rotating swivel or ball-bearing joint keeps the cable from twisting and lets the handle track your arm; comfortable, durable grips (knurled metal, rubber, or coated nylon) survive heavy use; and a standard carabiner or snap fits most machines. Match the attachment to the exercises you actually train rather than buying a giant kit you won’t use.

The Medium Grip Pronate is a well-regarded piece of MaxAGrip’s cable-attachment lineup, praised across independent sources for functionality: the pronated angle pulls elbows out and away from the body, biasing the upper back on pulldowns, rows, and especially T-bar work, where one reviewer called it “BOMB.” Build quality and durability both draw consistent praise — reviewers describe it as “very high quality,” “sturdy,” and phenomenally constructed, with one long-term GymRadar reviewer noting only minor cosmetic wear (dinged rubber coating) after several years of daily use. The weakest dimension is value: at roughly $65, it’s expensive next to five-packs of knockoff clones, though several reviewers who tried both say the authentic MAG grip’s fit and finish justify the premium. Versatility is solid but intentionally narrow — this is a single-grip-angle attachment, not an adjustable one, best paired with the Medium Supinate for full pulldown/row/T-bar coverage.

  • +Functionality: pronated angle biases the upper back and shines for T-bar rows ("BOMB for the T-bar work" — Gray Matter Lifting)
  • +Build quality: reviewers consistently call it "very high quality" and "phenomenal construction" (GymRadar)
  • +Durability: a multi-year daily user reports only minor cosmetic wear to the rubber coating (GymRadar)
  • +Functionality: full-hand contact distributes load across the whole hand rather than the fingers, reducing grip fatigue and the need for straps (YouTube)
  • +Versatility: pairs naturally with the Medium Supinate to cover pulldowns, low rows, and T-bar landmine rows (Gray Matter Lifting)
  • Value: at ~$65, it's pricier than five-packs of knockoff clones, though buyers who compared both prefer the original's feel (GymRadar, YouTube)
  • Versatility: single fixed grip angle only — not adjustable like a multi-grip bar
  • Functionality: reviewers note using it flipped around approximates but doesn't fully replicate a supinated grip, especially once weight gets heavy (YouTube)
