Rep FB-4000 Competition Lite Flat Bench

The FB-4000 Comp Lite is REP’s budget competition-style flat bench: a 3-post tripod base for unobstructed foot placement and leg drive, a 12”-wide pad, and an IPF-legal 16.9” height. It’s the lighter, cheaper sibling of the FB-5000 — a 14-gauge frame and 2” pad instead of 11-gauge and 4” — rated to 700 lb, which is plenty for most home lifters.

Step up to the FB-5000 Competition Flat Bench for a thicker pad and higher rating, or Rogue’s Flat Utility Bench 2.0 if IPF height isn’t a concern. Note this model has been largely superseded in REP’s current lineup.

What to look for

A wide, firm pad (11–12 in) that supports your shoulders without being so wide it limits arm drive, a stable wide or tripod base, a high weight capacity, and sturdy 11-gauge steel. Pad grippiness matters more than you’d think for heavy benching.
