X-3 Series Spotter Arms

Titan’s X-3 Series Spotter Arms are a solo-lifting safety accessory for X-3 Series power racks with 3” x 3” uprights. Built from 11-gauge steel and fully lined with UHMW plastic to protect the barbell and rack, each arm carries a 1,500 lb rackable capacity. Quick-pin adapters let you reposition them in seconds between sets, and when not in use they store flush against the inside of the rack without sticking out.

Reviewers rate the build and versatility highly — the arms handle bench press, squat, and shoulder press alike — though both an independent written review and a video review note that the usable arm length runs shorter (about 20”) than the advertised 24”.

What is a Rack Attachment?

What rack attachments are

Rack attachments bolt or pin onto a power rack or squat stand to expand what it can do — J-cups and safety arms/straps (the essentials), plus dip bars, a landmine, a lat pulldown, weight-plate storage, roller J-cups, and more. They turn a rack into a whole gym.

Compatibility comes first

An attachment must match your rack’s upright size (2x2, 2x3, or 3x3) and hole pattern/hardware (e.g. 5/8-in vs 1-in holes, Westside spacing). Attachments are usually series-specific — a Monster Lite J-cup won’t fit an Echo upright — so confirm the fit before buying.

Titan’s X-3 Series Spotter Arms are a solid, no-frills solo-lifting safety for X-3 Series racks — 11-gauge steel with UHMW-lined pads rated to 1,500 lb per arm, and they tuck flush inside the rack when not in use. Build quality and versatility are the standouts: reviewers use them for bench, squat, shoulder press, and even calf raises, and the current fully-lined version protects both the bar and the uprights. The one recurring knock is functionality-adjacent — the arms are advertised at 24” but reviewers consistently measure only about 20” of usable length, and the very earliest version had unlined uprights and rougher welds (since fixed on current stock). With GymRadar’s 4.56/5 average from only 3 owners and one independent video/written review pair, the durability picture is still thin, though no one reports a failure.

  • +Build quality: 11-gauge steel construction, fully UHMW-lined on current stock to protect the barbell and rack uprights (Titan Fitness, Shredded Dad)
  • +Functionality: quick-pin adapters make height changes fast between sets, and the pin fits both 5/8" and 1" holes (Titan Fitness)
  • +Versatility: used across bench press, incline bench, squat, and shoulder press — any lift where a solo lifter could get stuck (Shredded Dad, YouTube)
  • +Versatility: stores flush against the inside of the rack, taking up no extra floor or rack space (YouTube: Shredded Dad Garage Gym)
  • +Value: essential safety equipment at a price that's regularly discounted from list (Titan Fitness, Shredded Dad — "they will save your life so use them")
  • Functionality: advertised as 24" long, but reviewers consistently measure only about 20" of usable arm length (Shredded Dad, YouTube: Shredded Dad Garage Gym)
  • Build quality: the original/older version shipped with unlined uprights and less refined welds — fixed on the current fully-lined stock, but a discrepancy worth knowing before buying used (Shredded Dad)
  • Durability: only a handful of independent reviews exist (GymRadar n=3, one video/written review pair), so long-term wear data is thin (GymRadar, Shredded Dad)
