Buy NowRogue’s 26’ER™ Wagon Wheel Pair is an oversized bumper-plate set built as a stand-in for pulling blocks: each 26” diameter, 70 lb natural-rubber plate elevates a loaded barbell roughly 4 inches off the floor, the same lift height as a standard set of pulling blocks, for partial-range deadlift and lockout training. The pair shares its 50.6mm hub opening with standard Olympic barbells and adds recessed edges for easier handling, evolving the original steel Wagon Wheels co-developed with powerlifting coach Mark Bell into a heavier, rubber-coated “block pulls without the blocks” format. Reviewers praise how quietly the plates sit on a lifting platform and how easily they slide onto an axle or barbell without a bar jack, while the home-gym community’s most consistent knock on the wagon-wheel category is its premium price relative to standard bumper plates.

Weight plates load your barbell — but “plate” covers two very different tools. Bumper plates are rubber discs around a steel hub, all the same ~450mm diameter, built to be dropped from overhead without damaging your floor or bar; they’re the default for Olympic lifting and CrossFit. Iron/steel plates are denser and thinner per pound, cheaper, and quieter to load, but most aren’t made to be dropped — better for slow, controlled powerlifting-style work.
Every barbell gym needs plates. Most home lifters should start with a bumper set, then add iron, change, or specialty plates as a second purchase once they know what their training is missing.

Rogue’s 26’ER™ Wagon Wheel Pair is a well-regarded, if pricey, alternative to pulling blocks — reviewers consistently praise how it delivers the same elevated deadlift/lockout training as a set of 4” blocks without the setup hassle. Functionality is the clear standout: owners across YouTube call out the quiet operation on a lifting platform, easy axle/barbell loading with no bar jack required, and genuine utility for lockout-weak lifters. Value is the weak spot — community sentiment on r/homegym has long flagged the wagon-wheel category as expensive relative to standard bumpers, and at $351 for a 140 lb pair the 26’ER is no exception, though buyers who use it regularly consider the convenience worth the premium.
