Mini Deadlift Bar Jack

The Rogue Mini Deadlift Bar Jack is a compact, single-side barbell jack for elevating one end of a loaded bar off the floor to make loading and unloading plates during deadlifts and other ground-based lifts easier. At under half the length of Rogue’s standard 42” Deadlift Bar Jack, it trades simultaneous two-sided lifting for a much smaller footprint – prop it under one end of the bar, pull back to elevate, then slide plates on just like a racked bar. It’s fully-welded from 2 x 2” 11-gauge steel and assembled at Rogue’s Columbus, Ohio facility, with a 0.25” formed steel cup lined in UHMW plastic to protect barbell knurling and finish. It works with any standard barbell resting at floor level and needs no permanent gym infrastructure – just floor space to store it.

What is a Miscellaneou?

What’s in Miscellaneous

This is the catch-all for the conditioning tools and accessories that don’t fit a single equipment class — weighted vests and plate carriers, medicine and slam balls, plyo boxes, ab mats, and the odds and ends that round out a garage gym. Items land here because their job (loaded carries, jumps, core work) cuts across the categories rather than sitting neatly inside one.

Who it’s for

Anyone filling in the gaps around the big pieces. If you already have a rack, bar, and plates, this is where you find the vest for rucking and weighted push-ups, the ball for slams and wall throws, or the box for step-ups and box jumps. Match the tool to the training you actually do — a plate carrier for conditioning and rucking, plyo boxes for explosive work — rather than buying the whole shelf.

The Rogue Mini Deadlift Bar Jack is a compact, single-side alternative to Rogue’s full-size 42” Deadlift Bar Jack, aimed at lifters who want easier plate loading without dedicating a large chunk of floor space to a full-length jack. Functionality is the standout for lighter and moderate loads – it elevates one end of the bar cleanly and the UHMW-lined cup protects barbell knurling – but it’s also the product’s clearest limitation: reviewers converge on the same complaint that the short handle becomes hard to lever above roughly 185 lb per bar end, and that it lifts only one side at a time versus the full-size version’s simultaneous two-sided lift. For lifters training well under 315 lb, or anyone truly space-constrained, it’s a solid, well-built compact tool; for heavier or more frequent use, both petefree.com and a Basement Brandon YouTube review conclude the full-size Deadlift Bar Jack is the better buy.

  • +Functionality: reliably elevates a loaded barbell off the floor for easy plate changes, with a Fit At Midlife video reviewer calling it "highly recommended"
  • +Build quality: fully-welded 2 x 2" 11-gauge steel construction with a 0.25" formed steel cup lined in UHMW plastic to protect barbell knurling and finish (Rogue manufacturer page, Garage Gym Reviews)
  • +Durability: petefree.com's review, run on fragile wood flooring in a constrained home gym, found the unit solidly built and durable, and praised Rogue's customer service
  • +Value: compact 19" x 4.5" footprint and made-in-USA construction at roughly a third of the full-size Deadlift Bar Jack's price point, per a Basement Brandon YouTube review
  • +Versatility: works with any standard barbell and requires no gym infrastructure beyond floor space to store it (Rogue manufacturer page)
  • Functionality: the short handle becomes difficult to lever above ~185 lb of plates per bar end, per petefree.com's hands-on review
  • Functionality: lifts only one side of the bar at a time (vs. the full-size Deadlift Bar Jack's simultaneous two-sided lift), requiring relocation between ends -- Basement Brandon notes the un-lifted side tends to roll during use
  • Functionality: petefree.com found it deposits the bar several inches behind its starting position, needing extra mat depth, and offers less control lowering loaded bars onto delicate flooring
  • Value: two independent reviewers (petefree.com, Basement Brandon on YouTube) each conclude they'd recommend the full-size version instead once budget or space allow
