Stealth Spotters

Surplus Strength’s Stealth Spotters are a low-profile pair of safety spotter arms built around a gussetless, hand-welded American steel design that takes up dramatically less rack space than traditional spotter arms — reviewers consistently measure roughly 7” of upright space used, versus ~14” for a comparable design like Titan’s or Rogue’s Monster line. Each arm runs 27 3/16” long, offers 20”+ of flat catch depth plus a face-guard lip, and is built from a 3/8” welded steel mounting channel with a 1/4” laser-cut vertical face and a 1” stainless-steel mounting pin. Every contact point — barbell, upright, and the underside — is lined in UHMW to prevent metal-on-metal contact and protect knurling and rack finish alike. They mount to any 3”x3” rack with 1” holes on 2” spacing (concentric or offset patterns, 50mm spacing included) using just 3-4 holes instead of the 7-8 a conventional bracket needs, and each arm weighs about 25 lb. Sold in pairs for $550 direct from the manufacturer (Textured Black or Textured Red), with owners commonly reporting 10-14 day lead times. The compact bracket design means it relies on a rear pin for rotational stability — leaving it out introduces play, so it’s treated as a required step, not an optional one, across multiple independent reviews.
