The AB-5200 Spotter Platform is designed to enhance the AB-5200 adjustable weight bench, providing optimal spotter positioning to assure safety while you’re lifting heavy and with a workout partner. This platform features helpful diamond tread to assure the spotter won’t slip or lose footing. The platform is stable and large, with a foot surface area of 7x17”. The platform is easy to attach; simply bolt it on. It’s heavy-duty, too, made from six-gauge steel. The high-quality platform is finished with an aesthetic, matte black powder coat and accented with a laser-cut REP logo. What a weight bench is

A weight bench is the platform for pressing, supported rows, and seated accessory work — the second-most-used piece in most gyms after the rack. Broadly there are two kinds: flat benches (fixed and ultra-stable) and adjustable/FID benches (the back and seat pivot through flat, incline, and decline angles for versatility).

Which to choose

Buy a flat bench if you mostly bench and want maximum stability for the least money; buy an adjustable if you want one bench to cover incline presses, shoulder work, and more. Either way, prioritize a high weight rating, thick steel, and a firm, grippy pad.
